The brief
Yofi Paddlesports hire canoes and paddleboards from Ye Olde Ferrie Inn at Symonds Yat West, on one of the most beautiful stretches of the River Wye. Robin and Leon took over the business around four years ago, and they wanted a short film that showed who they are, what they do and why people keep coming back to the river.
The approach
We spent a full day with them in October 2025, as Storm Amy rolled in: kit out of the trailer, boats down the steps, the safety brief, a paddle upstream and the paddle back, with Molly filming from a canoe and the drone up whenever the weather allowed. Robin and Leon were interviewed inside the inn. There is no voiceover and nothing scripted, just the two of them in their own words, graded gently towards autumn colour.
From the same day we cut three short social films, each with its own angle: the people, the place, and the sense of escape a day on the river gives their customers.
In early 2026 they came back with a second commission: a canoe safety and induction video for customers to watch at the point of booking and on loop at the venue. We wrote the script, shot it in March between spells of high water, and delivered it with subtitles in time for the new season.
The outcome
The founder film now introduces Yofi on YouTube and across social media, and the safety video is part of every booking. A client coming back for more work is the best feedback we can get, and Robin’s reaction to the first film said it all: “Thank you so much for this. It is absolutely fantastic. So pleased.”
